Chick-Fil-a Cyberattack Timeline: How Breaches Sparked a Gift Card Panic
Navigating the aftermath of an account compromise requires knowing how to confirm your remaining balance through secure, official channels. Scammers often register lookalike domains offering "instant balance lookups" designed to phish remaining funds. There are only three reliable ways to confirm your funds.
First, run an official eGift card balance inquiry directly on the Chick-fil-A website. Scroll to the gift card section and navigate to the check balance portal. You will be prompted to enter the 16-digit gift card number and PIN, which is located under the scratch-off silver coating on physical cards or displayed in the confirmation email for digital cards. This portal operates independently of your Chick-fil-A One account login, making it safe even if your mobile app profile was temporarily frozen.
Second, open the official Chick-fil-A One app on your mobile device. Tap the "Scan" icon at the bottom of the home screen. Your active balance appears immediately beneath the QR code. To see whether unauthorized charges occurred, select "Account" and review your recent order history. If you see completed orders you did not place, take immediate screenshots of the transaction timestamps, order numbers, and store locations before logging out.
Third, request an in-person restaurant cashier balance inquiry. Hand your physical plastic card or present the digital barcode on your phone to any team member at the drive-thru or counter register. The point-of-sale terminal can query the system and print a paper slip showing your current balance and recent register activity.
