Why Is Dantdm Trending with Bloods and Crips? the Wild Truth Behind the Viral Craze
By David Miller
Many traditional media personalities panic when their names surface next to references to organized crime. Middleton handled the meme with the practiced ease of an internet native. Across his recurring Reddit review videos on YouTube, he routinely highlighted the absurd creations posted by his community on r/DanTDM.
When variants of the gang-comparison memes appeared on his screen, Middleton erupted into laughter rather than issuing stern PR corrections. He openly acknowledged the sheer ridiculousness of seeing his younger, blue-haired self positioned as a hardened street enforcer holding down digital turf. By reacting on camera, Middleton gave fans implicit permission to keep running with the joke.
His relaxed posture defanged any potential brand damage. Instead of treating the imagery as a PR liability, his community celebrated it as another piece of shared folklore. It sat comfortably alongside other long-running running gags, such as jokes about Dr. Trayaurus secretly committing war crimes or Craig the Mailman being an undercover menace.
