Who Wrote 'It's Raining Tacos'? the Real Story of Creator Parry Gripp
By Alexander Ross
Q1: Did Parry Gripp write "It's Raining Tacos" alone?
Yes. Parry Gripp wrote, recorded, and produced the track entirely on his own. The famous animated music video frequently associated with the song was created independently by British animator BooneBum, who collaborated closely with Gripp after the original audio gained traction.
Q2: Why was "It's Raining Tacos" so popular in Roblox?
Roblox allowed players who owned in-game "boombox" accessories to enter audio ID codes to broadcast music across public servers. Because of the track's high-energy cadence and meme status, it became one of the most widely shared and purchased audio IDs across thousands of custom player-made worlds throughout the late 2010s.
Q3: Is Parry Gripp still making music today?
Yes. Gripp continues to release original novelty tracks, commercial jingles, and full-length albums regularly through his independent label and streaming platforms. He also still performs and records with his rock band, Nerf Herder.
