Who's Birthday Is It Today? Complete Guide to Famous Stars Born Today
By Maya Lin-Takahashi
The transition between late September and early October yields a dense cluster of screen legends and modern leading performers. Hollywood veteran Susan Sarandon, born October 4, 1946, continues to anchor discussions of artistic independence and fearless role selection. Sarandon’s filmography, stretching from The Rocky Horror Picture Show to Thelma & Louise and her Academy Award-winning performance in Dead Man’s Bones, serves as a blueprint for sustained relevance across multiple decades.
Sharing that exact October 4 date is Dakota Johnson, born in 1989. Johnson carved out an idiosyncratic career path, pivoting from commercial studio trilogies into ambitious indie productions and critically praised psychological dramas like The Lost Daughter. Having two generations of distinct Hollywood visibility sharing an October 4 birthdate underscores how screen presence evolves from gritty 1970s auteur cinema to modern boutique film production.
Looking just a day or two earlier expands this artistic legacy:
- Julie Andrews (October 1, 1935): The definitive voice of mid-century cinematic warmth, whose work in Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music established enduring standards for musical theater and film performance.
- Zach Galifianakis (October 1, 1969): A comedic performer who shifted alternative comedy into mainstream box-office triumph through deadpan delivery and groundbreaking digital-short interview formats.
- Lorraine Bracco (October 2, 1954): Renowned for giving indelible performances in Goodfellas and The Sopranos, bringing emotional volatility and sharp realism to classic crime cinema.
- Tessa Thompson (October 3, 1983): A driving force behind modern franchise revivals and prestige indie titles, demonstrating dynamic versatility across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Creed, and independent festival circuits.
- Monica Bellucci (September 30, 1964): An international cinema icon whose work spans European art-house achievements and global blockbuster franchises.
