When Moon Knight debuted in 2022, Disney+ flooded subscriber queues with big-budget, six-episode miniseries costing upwards of $150 million each. That era of unrestrained spending ended. Marvel Studios retooled its television output, moving toward dedicated showrunners, traditional multi-season development tracks, and reduced annual output under the Marvel Television banner.
This structural recalibration impacts Moon Knight directly. Series director Mohamed Diab and executive producer Grant Curtis have both noted that any continuation requires substantial justification. If a second season enters production, expect it to follow a more grounded production blueprint with fewer CGI sky-beams and a sharper focus on street-level combat in Cairo, London, or New York. The open question is whether Isaac wants to spend eight months filming a television season when a feature film appearance accomplishes the same narrative goal in half the shooting time.
