Who Is the Voice of Virginia Movie Buzz? Inside the Shocking Toy Story 5 Casting
By Robert Thorne
In a memorable interview with WTOP News, the actress pulled back the curtain on the grueling audition steps. She described walking into her home recording booth, running through warm-ups, and practicing Harris’s iconic lines from Toy Story 2, including the famous warning to pack "extra shoes and your angry eyes."
Her background in local D.C.-area theater proved decisive. Harris's delivery was not just loud; it possessed a specific New York vaudeville inflection paired with rapid dynamic shifts. Replicating that voice without blowing out a microphone capsule requires precise diaphragmatic control. During recording sessions at Disney’s Manhattan and Burbank studios, animators sketched facial expressions in tandem with her vocal takes. Hearing her work played back alongside archival reels confirmed she belonged in the Toy Story franchise.
