The primary concern for bystanders and animal welfare advocates was the immediate condition of the fallen horse. Paramedics treated the unseated riders for non-life-threatening scrapes and contusions, while veterinary technicians examined the animal directly on the street.

Field assessments revealed road rash, superficial lacerations, and signs of extreme stress, but the animal sustained no broken bones or catastrophic tendon tears. Animal control officers transported the horses to an impound and quarantine barn for thorough hydration, wound cleaning, and 48-hour monitoring. Independent veterinary follow-ups confirmed that both animals recovered their physical baseline and were eventually transferred away from metropolitan limits into certified rural boarding facilities.
