'The Suite Life of Zack & Cody' Mourns Jim Geoghan: Visionary Co-Creator Passes Away at 79
By Sarah Jenkins
Jim Geoghan belonged to an era of television writers who understood that broad humor requires surgical precision. Making an audience laugh with a flying room service cart demands as much craft as writing high-stakes drama. By taking juvenile situations seriously and respecting his audience's intelligence, he built a television environment where young talent flourished and multi-generational viewers gathered together.
His passing marks the loss of a foundational figure in modern television history. As current creators struggle with fragmented audiences and short-form algorithms, the 87 episodes of hotel hallway chaos that Geoghan leaves behind remain a textbook blueprint for how to build enduring, joyful entertainment.
