The Complete Danny Phantom Tiktok Explainer: Fortnite, New Books, and Creator News
By Chloe Bennett
Q1: Why is Danny Phantom suddenly trending all over TikTok?
A1: The trend is driven by three intersecting factors: a viral "Going Ghost" audio transition format used by cosplayers, the revelation of official character skins in Epic Games' Fortnite, and renewed story discussions spurred by Gabriela Epstein's official continuation graphic novels.
Q2: Is Nickelodeon making a new Danny Phantom animated series?
A2: Nickelodeon has not greenlit a full animated reboot for television or streaming platforms. However, the network actively licenses the property for official graphic novel sequels with Abrams Books, video game crossover appearances, and commemorative merchandise.
Q3: Are the new graphic novels like 'Fair Game' considered official canon?
A3: Yes. Published by Abrams Books in direct partnership with Nickelodeon, books such as A Glitch in Time and Fair Game serve as the officially sanctioned narrative continuation following the events of the series finale.
Q4: Is original creator Butch Hartman involved in the current projects?
A4: No. Butch Hartman does not write or illustrate the modern graphic novels, nor does he oversee licensing deals. He operates an independent animation studio dedicated to original projects, while Paramount Global holds full ownership of the Danny Phantom franchise.
