Stone Cold and Kristin Austin: a Complete Timeline of Their 15-Year Marriage
Shortly after marrying, Steve and Kristin focused their attention on land ownership and ranch management. The cornerstone of this era was the original Broken Skull Ranch, a sprawling property encompassing over 2,000 acres in Tilden, Texas.
The Texas ranch became the backdrop for Austin’s transition into modern broadcasting. While Steve hosted The Steve Austin Show podcast and filmed challenge competitions for television, Kristin managed domestic operations and property logistics. On his podcast, Austin regularly shared humorous domestic anecdotes, painting a picture of an ordinary couple dealing with daily ranch problems: escaping rattlesnakes, malfunctioning utility vehicles, and the eccentric personalities of their rescue dogs, Cali and Moolah.
In late 2017, the couple opted for a geographical pivot. Austin sold the South Texas spread and relocated primary ranching operations to Nevada, establishing "Broken Skull Ranch 2.0" near the Sierra Nevada mountains. The move allowed them closer access to production hubs in California while maintaining rural privacy. Throughout the transition, Kristin stayed behind the scenes, acting as an informal advisor on Austin's expanding beverage partnerships, including his Broken Skull IPA and American lager lines with El Segundo Brewing Company.
