Dense formulations create unique hydraulic challenges. A viscous Native conditioner bottle requires significantly more draw force than clear shampoo or body wash. If a newly unlocked pump feels stiff or fails to draw cream on the initial cycle, do not hammer on the plastic head.
Thick body products often harbor an air pocket directly beneath the dip tube intake. Tap the base of the bottle flat against a hard surface two or three times. This shock dislodges trapped air and settles the product around the bottom of the tube.
For gym bags or travel, re-locking the dispenser prevents catastrophic spills inside luggage. Push the nozzle completely downward into the housing and twist clockwise until you feel the threads catch and seat firmly. If you want to avoid discharging a full dose of shampoo during the compression step, unscrew the collar slightly, push the head down over the opening, lock the threads, and then screw the entire sealed cap back onto the container.
