Oliver Shane Hawkins Timeline: from Wembley Tribute to Chevy Metal Leader

Shane replicated that intensity weeks later on September 27, 2022, at the Los Angeles Kia Forum tribute, joining Foo Fighters for a thrashing cover of "I'll Stick Around." Yet observers wondered how sustainable these appearances would be as Foo Fighters prepared to resume regular tour schedules in 2023.
Speculation mounted that Shane might permanently occupy his father's chair. Grohl and company opted for veteran studio master Josh Freese, shielding the high school student from the grind of a world tour while leaving the door open for spontaneous cameos.
That bond resurfaced on May 26, 2023, during the Foo Fighters' headline set at Boston Calling. Mid-set, Dave Grohl invited Shane back behind the kit for another round of "I'll Stick Around." Unlike the emotionally charged Wembley showcase, Boston Calling showed a more relaxed, grinning young musician trading punchy rhythmic cues with Grohl and bassist Nate Mendel.
