How to Use the Saturn App: Sign-in Workarounds and Complete Faq
Students hitting the verification barrier often turn to popular temporary number services. Apps like Google Voice, TextNow, and Skype issue functional virtual phone numbers capable of receiving standard two-factor authentication texts. On Saturn, however, these numbers produce immediate error notices stating that the phone number is invalid or unsupported.
This rejection stems from telephony verification APIs like Telesign and Twilio. When an applicant enters a 10-digit number, Saturn queries carrier databases in milliseconds. The system parses the line type into distinct classifications:
- Wireless / Mobile: Physical SIM or eSIM connected directly to major network operators (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile). These are approved.
- Wireline: Traditional copper landlines. These are immediately rejected.
- VoIP (Voice over IP): Cloud-assigned digital routing. These are systematically blacklisted.
Because virtual phone numbers allow complete anonymity and can be generated programmatically by bad actors, Saturn blocks VOIP numbers outright. The app treats Wi-Fi-generated numbers as high-risk intrusion vectors. If an account cannot be tied to an authenticated mobile subscriber profile, the gate stays shut.
