How to Use the Exclusion List in Palworld 1.0: Complete Automation Guide
Container filtering functions directly through the interaction prompt on every built storage unit. Approaching any wooden crate, metal chest, or refined storage container exposes a dedicated configuration menu. Opening this interface displays master item categories, ranging from Ingredients and Consumables to Minerals, Equipment, and Workstation Materials.
To build an efficient chest storage routing network, every chest on the base must be given a single administrative identity:
Open the target container and review the category checkboxes. By default, every item category is toggled active. To exclude specific categories, clear their respective marks. If you want a chest dedicated exclusively to refined ingots and raw ore, uncheck every category except Minerals. When a transport Pal picks up dropped Sulfur or Ore, the AI scans base storage arrays and routes the resource directly to the Mineral-flagged crate, completely ignoring nearby farming chests.
Preventing inventory overflow requires creating an intentional "dump container." If every chest in a base operates on a rigid exclusion list and those chests hit full capacity, transport Pals encounter an execution error: unable to drop their payload, they hover near production stations, enter an infinite recalculation loop, and eventually abandon the haul on the ground. Placing a single, massive high-capacity chest near the Palbox with all categories permitted prevents ground clutter and keeps transport queues clear when primary silos overflow.
