How to Lay Down on Your Board in Skate 4: the Secret Input Stunt
Pulling off a coffin in Full Circle's skater sandbox does not rely on a menu wheel or a pre-canned animation trigger. Like classic flip tricks and manual balance, it is a manual physical state tied directly to your controller’s analog triggers and face buttons.
To execute the lay-down slide on flat ground or during a downhill run, establish forward momentum with two or three solid pushes. Once rolling at moderate speed, press and hold your left and right triggers at the exact same moment. While keeping both triggers compressed, immediately press and hold your primary grab buttons: X and A on an Xbox wireless controller, or Square and Cross on a PlayStation DualSense. Your character will drop their hips, extend their legs straight out, plant their back against the grip tape, and hold both rails.
Timing matters. If you press the face buttons before fully engaging the triggers, your skater will register a foot plant or a failed push instead of dropping flat. The triggers tell the physics system to engage dual hand grabs, while the face buttons instruct the upper torso and spine to collapse flat against the deck.
