For years, international fans struggled with conflicting figures regarding Han Jisung’s age. South Korea historically relied on the traditional "counting age" (se-neun nai), where an individual was deemed one year old on the day of birth and gained another year every New Year’s Day. Under that obsolete framework, Han was frequently described in Korean domestic broadcasts as two years older than his international age, generating massive confusion across overseas forums and social networks.

The confusion ended when the South Korean government officially enacted legislation in June 2023 abolishing the traditional counting system across civil, legal, and administrative frameworks. The unified standard mandates the international age (man nai). Across all official records, media appearances, and agency releases, Han's age now reflects his exact calendar birthdate. The discrepancies that previously dominated fan forums have disappeared.
