From 97-79 Win to Viral Tiktok: Timeline of Angel Reese and Team Usa’s Gold Medal Party
By James H. Sterling
Locker room celebrations at major tournaments usually follow a predictable formula of spraying water bottles, loud speakers, and quick photo-ops. Reese flipped that script by transforming the center aisle of the locker room into a makeshift production stage. She placed her phone against a stack of equipment cases, checked the lighting, and began organizing the rotation.
Teammates were pulled into frame one by one. Reese shouted out counts, adjusted hand positions, and demanded retakes whenever someone drifted off-rhythm. The behind the scenes video showed a candid, loose side of players who usually carry intense game faces. Gold medals clinked together as players executed the steps, and the spontaneous nature of the video instantly separated it from scripted team media obligations.
