Paul's legal struggles date back to February 2023, when she was arrested in Herriman, Utah, following a domestic dispute involving her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. Paul pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of domestic violence in the presence of a child, while other felony charges were formally dismissed under a plea abeyance agreement that mandated counseling, compliance checks, and domestic violence education.
By early 2026, the pressures of remaining in compliance under public scrutiny peaked. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Paul voluntarily admitted herself to an inpatient mental health treatment facility in July 2026. The move came during a high-stress stretch marked by custody mediation and intense social media scrutiny over personal disputes.
