Everything You Want to Know About Miley Cyrus's Brothers: Trace, Braison & Christopher
The Cyrus family tree is far more intricate than casual observers realize. In 1992, country star Billy Ray Cyrus experienced a whirlwind year that altered his personal life forever. Before his marriage to Leticia "Tish" Finley, Billy Ray had a brief relationship with Kristin Luckey, a South Carolina waitress. Luckey gave birth to Billy Ray’s first son, Christopher Cody Cyrus, in April 1992. Just seven months later, in November 1992, Tish gave birth to Destiny Hope Cyrus, the girl the world would soon know as Miley.
When Billy Ray and Tish married in December 1993, Billy Ray legally adopted Tish’s two children from her previous marriage to Baxter Neal Helson: Brandi (born 1987) and Trace (born 1989). The couple subsequently expanded their household with two more biological children: Braison in 1994 and Noah in 2000.
This blended dynamic created two distinct worlds within the family. One branch, Trace, Brandi, Miley, Braison, and Noah, grew up on an expansive Nashville estate and later moved into the intense glare of Los Angeles media following the debut of Hannah Montana. The other branch, Christopher Cody, grew up quietly with his mother in Fort Worth, Texas, largely insulated from the cameras, private jets, and platinum plaques that defined his siblings' youth.
