Did Kristi Noem Get Plastic Surgery? Fact-Checking Rumors, Expert Claims, and Reality
Unlike speculative cosmetic debates, one major aspect of Noem’s facial transformation rests entirely on documented evidence. In March 2024, Noem posted an unsponsored-looking, five-minute testimonial video to her personal social media accounts praising Smile Texas, an aesthetic dental clinic located in Sugar Land, Texas.
In the video, Noem spoke glowingly about the practice, explaining that a biking accident years earlier had damaged her teeth and left her self-conscious about her smile. She praised the clinic’s team for designing custom porcelain veneers that restored her bite and reshaped her visible teeth into a uniform, brilliant white arch. The video drew widespread scrutiny because governors rarely film lengthy infomercials for private cosmetic practices located outside their home states.
The promotional clip quickly sparked a legal backlash. Consumer advocacy group Travelers United filed a lawsuit against Noem in Washington, D.C. Superior Court, alleging she failed to disclose whether she received free or discounted dental services in exchange for promotional advertising. While the lawsuit generated negative political headlines, the footage provided indisputable confirmation of substantial cosmetic dental work that reshaped her lower face, smile width, and jaw posture.
