Cleo Buckman Schwimmer All Grown up: Rare Photos and Moments with David Schwimmer
By David Miller
Because photographs of Cleo are rare, those that do surface carry substantial weight with the public. One of the most talked-about moments came in June 2020, when Buckman posted photos of nine-year-old Cleo having her head shaved. Rather than treating it as an impulsive quarantine haircut, Buckman articulated the decision as an assertion of bodily autonomy, praising Cleo’s refusal to conform to conventional ideas of traditional girlhood. The post struck a chord with parents who applauded the couple for encouraging their daughter's confidence and self-definition.
That same month, Schwimmer and Buckman took Cleo to a Black Lives Matter march through downtown Manhattan. Schwimmer shared a photo from the demonstration, noting that demanding accountability and equality was a foundational duty as parents. Seeing the former couple stand shoulder-to-shoulder with their nine-year-old daughter sent a definitive message: Cleo's rare public appearances would center around real-world citizenship rather than Hollywood vanity projects.
