Chronological Marvel Timeline: Every Major Appearance and Collapse of Lady Liberty
By Maya Lin-Takahashi
Maintaining narrative consistency across dozens of streaming shows and feature films presents immense logistical hurdles. In January 2023, viewers noticed a subtle update: the Ms Marvel finale Disney Plus edit. When Episode 6 of Ms. Marvel originally aired in July 2022, an establishing shot of the New York and New Jersey harbor depicted the Statue of Liberty in its traditional green oxidized state without scaffolding.
Keen observers pointed out a direct clash with MCU timeline continuity. Ms. Marvel takes place in autumn 2025, approximately one year after the devastating holiday showdown in No Way Home. The Department of Damage Control could not have miraculously repaired, repainted, and dismantled all construction equipment on Liberty Island within that window.
Marvel Studios quietly pushed updated digital master files to Disney+ servers. The revised sequence replaced the clean green statue with a background model showing Lady Liberty still undergoing active repairs, complete with scaffolding rigs and partially finished paneling. The post-release patch showed how seriously the studio monitors geographic continuity, ensuring every project respects the visual scars left by preceding events.
